“Inertia” follows Ben Hanna as he takes a quick break from competitions and training to get back in touch with real rock. He travels to Colorado to climb some classic boulders at Lincoln Lake, and then sets his eyes on a hard project (Delirium V15).

The whole trip is a way of reorienting Ben’s confidence in himself, as comp climbing has been rough. He battles with Delirium, knowing it’s unlikely that he’ll send – but for him it’s not a matter of whether to try or not. Even though Ben has fun, he takes climbing seriously and gets very invested in it, and finds that’s the only way to push his limits. He makes huge progress on the route, but ultimately walks away empty handed. And that’s just how it is sometimes. No athlete can always perform at their best, but good ones keep trying. Ben learned a lot and plans on returning to the project in the future.

Boulders include:

Phobos V11
Dismantling The Enemy V12
Unshackled Sit V11 (flash)
Tattooed Tear Drops V11
Delirium V15
