Jake and Kyle Love

Everything you need to know about twin boulderers Jake and Kyle Love can be learned through various comments on their YouTube channel, BadWater Bouldering:

“I legit enjoyed this more than half of this year’s Reel Rock films” -@TedWillingham

“Was just binging your backlog on my Saturday morning since I just found this channel. You guys are criminally underrated” -@mariesidman7905

“Wait you guys are twins!? I’ve been thinking it’s the same guy for so long.” -@MCppp

“Where tf are you getting V10 from? Legit this is V3/4” -@queenfisher444

Hailing from Seattle, Jake and Kyle began their climbing journey in the Pacific Northwest collegiate climbing competition circuit. A transformative spring break spent wrestling the quartz monzonite monoliths of Bishop, California began what their loved ones consider an “unhealthy obsession” with bouldering high off the deck.

To apply their matching Film Production/Screenwriting degrees to content of artistic merit, the twins combined their lifelong passion for film with their newfound addiction to movement over stone, and BadWater Bouldering was born.

For the last decade, Kyle and Jake have dedicated their lives to film and climbing. One of them currently works as the Head Coach of the Edgeworks Youth Climbing Team, coaching many athletes to National Championships. The other is employed full time as an editor, working on all manner of corporate content and passion projects.

You can catch both brothers at your local crag, setting up a tripod, projecting a block, and shooting gorgeous ECUs of every aesthetic hold. (Say hi and they’ll give you a BadWater sticker!)

From indoors to outdoors; from highballs to first ascents; from developing bouldering crags to writing guidebooks for all climbers to enjoy Jake and Kyle are excited to be partnered with Kinetik and continue to explore, evolve, and enrich themselves and the worldwide climbing community.
